The cultivars of this species are amongst the most handsome of all Crocus. They produce several flowers to each bulb which helps to give a very long season. Earlier flowering than the Dutch bred C. vernus hybrids, they are beautiful in form and intense in colour often with exquisite feathering on the petals.
