Moraea villosa - Peacock IrisOne of the best patches of this is in a local cemetery where it is allowed to grow, flower and seed before the mower is used and Roundup isn’t ever used. In our dry garden it grows well through the dwarf Chinese Ceratostigma plumbaginoides and Genista lydia. Flowering during late spring its silky pale blue flowers with a peacock eye painted on each petal is one of the joys. Sun or light shade. 30cm x 10cm. |
