Scilla hispanica - Spanish Bluebell

Scilla hispanica the easiest of the bluebells to grow in our conditions. Happy in large drifts under old elm trees as well as growing with Queen of the Night tulips in our cottage garden where it is shaded by Salvia azurea during summer. Not particular as to soil one bulb will soon build up to sizable clumps so it’s better to give them some space. We find the distance between clumps should be 45cm or more. It grows 30 cm tall.

Available again in our Bulb Catalogue, early 2011.
