Tulipa fosteriana ‘Princeps’

An easily grown species found growing wild near Samarkand in Uzbekistan. It has been used widely in hybridising the Dutch tulips especially the Darwin cultivars. T. ‘Princeps’ is lower growing than others in this group. It has very large fiery red flowers, with a yellowish throat, on 20cm tall stems. 20cm x 10cm.
