Allium peninsulare
Peninsula Onion
To my mind this is one of the best of the smaller growing ornamental alliums. A bulb of dry Californian and Southern Oregon wooded slopes, it is easy to grow in any soil which dries out somewhat during summer. 35cm tall stems carry an umbel of rich rose-purple starry bells. The foliage is narrow and low. Fairly new to cultivation in Australia. Happy in sun or light shade.
