Arum hygrophilum
To my mind the most beautiful flower in the genus and also it blesses the gardener with an exceptionally long flowering period from early winter until mid-spring. The flowers are like an elegant Arisaema than an Arum. The spathe is long and narrow, soft green with a deep purple edge. It picks well lasting up to a week in a vase. Happy is any sunny spot it will grow up to a metre tall in good soil which is kept moist during summer and less in drier conditions.
