Iris foetidissima

Iris foetidissima is one of the best strappy leaf plants for growing in the shade, even dense and dry. Glossy deep green arching leaves are handsome the year round. During spring it produces small mauve flowers which, whilst not flashy, repay close attention. Seed pods open during autumn revealing showy, bright red berries.
