Marigold ‘Crackerjack’ (Tagetes erecta)
A terrific old variety of large flowered double marigolds. Orange, yellow and lemon flowers, some 8-10cm across are carried on a strong 70-80cm tall plant. Makes a good cut flower as well as an excellent garden subject. Sow seeds in spring.
When to sow: Early to mid-spring
Where to sow: In seed trays under cover or in permanent spot in the garden when danger of frost is over
Depth to sow: 1/2cm
Aspect: Full sun or as sunny a spot as possible.
Soil: Prepared, well drained, fertilised soil. Add lime if soil is too acid.
Spacing: Between plants: 20cm
Directions: Will flower from early summer well in to autumn. Dead head occasionally to prolong the display.
