Urginea maritima
Sea Squill
A bulb from Mediterranean sea shores which flowers with us during late summer and early autumn. We’ve had it growing in a neglected paddock where it has thrived without water for all of the past years of drought. The Sea Squill makes stiff thick strong stems up to a metre tall tightly packed on the upper half with two or three hundred ivory white stars. The winter spring foliage is handsome as well. Needs a sunny spot and let the bulb dry off in summer. Large bulbs.
